Without updating to the latest version of Box Tools you will be impacted by this bug that will prevent you from natively opening Box files from Google Chrome(v 102) and Microsoft Edge browsers. W e released a Windows only hotfix version of Box Tools (v4.16.1) on Feb 16th, 2022 to fix this compatibility issues with Chrome’s Private Network Access extension. Since then Google has rolled back this change but will be introducing this change again in the upcoming version (v102 releasing May 24th, 2022). The “Open” button on the web was grayed out. After authenticating, the login flow would become stuck waiting for Device Trust checks to execute. Users in enterprises with Device Trust enabled were unable to log into box.com. This changed how Chrome makes requests to Box Tools, and unfortunately triggered a bug in Box Tools, breaking the integration with box.com.
